FLORIDA, PARTORISCE UN BIMBO DI 6 CHILI. E’ RECORD.
Neppure lo aveva capito Maxxzandra Ford che stava crescendo nel suo grembo un bimbo che sarebbe arrivato a pesare 14,1 pounds, ovvero 6 kg e 300 grammi. Pensava semplicemente di essere ingrassata. Il marito, Allen Denton, però l’ha convinta a fare il test di gravidanza il cui risultato ha fatto dileguare ogni dubbio: c’era un neonato in arrivo.
Alla prima visita ginecologica, i medici del St. Joseph’s Hospital di Tampa, importante città degli Stati Uniti posta sulla costa occidentale della Florida, hanno confermato che Maxxzandra era incinta di 35 settimane.
Considerato il peso della donna che aumentava più della norma, Maxxzandra era convinta di aspettare due gemelli perché lei stessa è una gemella. Si è pensato, quindi, a un parto gemellare. Pensiero smentito al primo esame con gli ultrasuoni: in arrivo non c’erano due bambini ma uno solo il cui peso, secondo le aspettative, sarebbe stato di ben 10 pounds.
La vera sorpresa, però, è giunta al momento del parto: Ford ha dato alla luce, senza ricorrere al cesareo, un neonato di 14,1 pounds, superando tutte le previsioni. “Quando ho sentito uscire la sua testa – ha dichiarato la donna -, sapevo che il suo peso era superiore a 10 pounds”.
Il piccolo, soprannominato dal team di medici “The Big Baby”, si chiama Avery Denton Ford ed è nato il 29 gennaio scorso. Sia la mamma sia il nascituro stanno bene e usciranno dall’ospedale nei prossimi giorni. Maxxzandra e il marito Allen sono genitori anche di una bambina di sei anni e di un bimbo di un anno.
Nell’ospedale della Florida dove è venuto al mondo, Avery ha battuto il record per il maggiore peso alla nascita. Nonostante il suo primato, è ben lontano dal bambino più grande mai nato secondo il Guinness World Records: un neonato di 23 pounds, circa 10 kg e 433 grammi, dato alla luce dalla canadese Ann Bates nel 1879.
